The building work associated with the new Mayfield Community and Health Centre is now underway!

The final legal ‘engrossed’ documents were signed by all parties, contracts exchanged and the construction project awarded to Sussex-based Sunninghill Construction, who duly arrived on site on 7 April 2026.

Sunninghill has since closed the Court Meadow car park for the construction period, erected a perimeter site fence and installed a ‘no-dig’ temporary, pedestrian footpath for safe access from the main entrance on Tunbridge Wells Road to the Scout & Guide Hall, Court Meadow and the rear entrance of the Primary School. The footpath will extend to the Band Hut.

The approximate 12 month construction period will be marked by some major milestones including the permanent site accommodation of the main contractor from 27 April and the demolition of the old Memorial Hall commencing from the 7 May 2026. 

We would like to thank our partner, Wealden District Council, for working with us to enable the project to build our new community centre with a dedicated Mayfacs office and integrated, purpose-build health centre, which will be new home to Mayfield’s Woodhill surgery.
