The project to build the new Mayfield Community and Health Centre continues to progress, with key members working hard to maintain momentum.

Having gained approval from both Wealden District Council & Mayfield & Five Ashes Parish Full Councils in November 2025, the legal documents now need to be signed and several other items need to be completed before the building contract is awarded.

However, all is proceeding as planned and we hope to have these things finalised soon. In the meantime, the Pre-Construction Service Agreement (PCSA,) signed in December 2025, has allowed the contractor to begin working on the project off site and activity is expected to begin on site in earnest in March 2026. The current schedule shows a 60 week build time with competition due in Spring 2027.

As mentioned in last month’s update, the financial information and minutes (except those deemed commercially confidential) from the many meetings we have held regarding the project, are available on the Parish website https://mayfieldfiveashes-pc.gov.uk/. The final design drawings and information will be posted on this website as soon as everything is signed off.  Updates will also be available in the newsletter and the village Facebook, however, if further news is issued that residents need to be informed of before the next newsletter is published, it will be posted on these platforms.
